You can, yes. All you need to do is copy the installer app from your
applications folder to another source, such as an external drive or USB key.
Be sure that said destination is larger than 4GB, though.

Hi all,
I am still here at Perkins School for the Blind as a volunteer, but only
until Friday. The internet here is really good, and the internet at home can
sometimes be slow or drop out for no reason. So, is there any way I could
download the 10.8 file here, but not install it? I'm holding off because I
have a mini with no monitor, and I don't want something to go wrong and have
no way for anyone to read any error messages that might come up. So, I'd
rather download 10.8 here with good internet but no screen, then install it
at home with a screen but possibly bad internet. I hope that made sense!
