LOL! I've heard a sample of that voice too. I don't have the cepstral voices
because on the whole, I don't like them very
much, but you can get the acapella voices from assistiveware.com. I'm sorry I
can't help with Cepstral. I have a couple of
their voices for windows, but they're not good enough to buy for the mac, if
that makes sense. I'd love that southern voice
for windows, though. I could have some fun with it. Good luck tracking down
demos of the acapella voices, and I hope that
you're having a great day!

Missy, is there anywhere I can get a trial of the Accappella voices like
Tracey, etc?

What I really would like to get is the Cepstral Dalas voice for the mac.
Gawod! is he hillarious! I bought 'em a while
back, but even with the swift thing installed, I couldn't for the life a me
figure out how to get it unlocked and working. I
finally just stashed the thing on a rom, and said to hell with it, I'll figure
it out later, corse stupid me, never did, ha
ha ha. LOL! Seriously, if you want a real cowboy sounding southern draw
voice, God almighty! is he funny! I so! wish I
could show you all a sample. I busted! a gut! when I first heard it, and
didn't stop cracking up with tears rolling down my
cheaks for about 10 minutes straight.

Chris.

Hi! Over all, I agree with this post. The only problem I've run into so far is
that growl notifications aren't spoken as they
were. I'm not sure if there will be a growl update released to fix this, or
what the deal is. The notifications I'm mostly
interested in getting back are when files are added, deleted or changed in
dropbox. Granted, I do most things on my PC, but
if I happened to have the mac on as well, it was handy to hear acapella Tracy
informing me of dropbox changes. I'm very happy
that the Acapella voices are still working. I use Alex for Voiceover stuff, but
Tracy is my system voice, and I'm happy that
didn't have to change. If anyone could shed some light on the situation with
growl, that would be great. Otherwise, I'm
pretty satisfied with the update, especially the dictation.

Hey guys. I was thinking of using the Siri dictation feature to write this
message, but after trying to send a message to
Kimsan and seeing that it entered something that I didn't say, I figured I'd
write this myself. So with that being said, I
must say that Apple did a freaking awesome job with Mountain Lion. My favorite
features so far have been the Siri dictation,
even though it hears what it wants to hear sometimes, the ability to update
more than one App in the App store, and yes, the
ability to use some third party Apps that weren't accessible to us in the past.
Now I can use Menuweather, the app that I
complained that wasn't accessible a few months ago, and change whatever
settings I need. Also, for Infovox Ivox 3 users, your
voices will continue to work. You don't need to download any patches or
anything.
I did notice a couple of bugs though. The first one is something that this list
has talked about when Lion first launched,
and that is the booting up time. For me, when I came home from work and booted
up my machine, I pretty much had to wait for
about 2-3 minutes before Voiceover started talking. Also, in both Lion and Snow
Leopard, both Adium and Skype launched right
away after startup. In Mountain Lion, It takes a minute for both apps to
launch. These aren't deal breakers though, just
minor hinderances. As for the Nuance voices, I'm not gonna even bother using
them with Voiceover if they're still making
those stupid pitch changes. Why would I if I have Tracy from Acapela?
Anyway, all in all, this is a fantastic upgrade, better than Lion in my
opinion. I hope you all have fun with Mountain Lion,
as I sure am.
