Hi everyone, Just want to clarify a few things. The VoiceOver Getting Started guide in braille from the LightHouse in San Francisco is getting close to being published. The LightHouse is finalizing the licensing agreement with Apple and once that's done, you will find the new Mountain Lion link for getting the braille and links to download the brf files. As far as the content goes, here are the details. There are 2 braille guides, 1 is the VoiceOver Getting Started for Mac OS X, and the other is the iPhone Getting Started for iOS devices. For the Mac OS X guide, it is written specifically for VoiceOver. It contains VoiceOver basics, a comprehensive list of all the keyboard commands, and tips and tricks on using several of the native apps that come with the Mac. For the iOS guide, it is the same as the downloadable pdf guide. It is the standard getting started guide with only 1 chapter at the end dedicated for VoiceOver. Both guides are available in braille from the LightHouse and the brf files are downloadable. And to be clear, the guide that will be published soon is for Mountain Lion. As far as I know, the iOS guide is only for version 5, there is no estimated date for iOS 6.

Hello Esther Thanks for the information on the voiceover user guide for Mountain lion. I have however, an additional question. Last year, I downloaded a brf file from the Apple website for voiceover under snow Leopard. I also bought the 2 volume set from the San Francisco Lighthouse, and back then there was a link on the Apple web site to go there to do it. I have a blind friend who has decided to switch to a Mac. Actually, she is going to do something that would be difficult under windows. A sighted friend of hers is going to get her Mac first, and my friend is going to learn voice over on it. She wants to read the manual ahead of time, so do you know if there is another link for getting a DRF file for this? I assume you would prefer a version in Dutch: http://help.apple.com/voiceover/info/guide/10.8/Dutch.lproj/index.html For English speakers, the link to the VoiceOver Getting Started Guide for Mountain Lion is: http://help.apple.com/voiceover/info/guide/10.8/index.html HTH. ON the bottom of my message, you could find a link of the userguide for voiceover in 10.6. That's what I am looking for for 10.8 but it will perhaps become later! Kind regards, William Windels http://www.apple.com/voiceover/info/guide/ Op 28-jul.-2012, om 16:56 heeft Daniel Miller <[email protected]> het volgende geschreven: That's what he's talking about, the quickstart guide on that menu. He wants a more comprehensive guide, apparently, which there has never been, seeing as that's comprehensive enough. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mark BurningHawk Baxter Sent: Saturday, July 28, 2012 9:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: userguide vor voiceover in 10.8, help pls!
