Hi, In some situations I've found that you need to use VO-shift-m to bring up the Contextual menu on the link then choose Open Link. VIPs are a new feature in Mail whereby specific people are identified as important to you and are thus labeled as VIPs. I'm guessing that you've pressed something to tell Mail that someone is a VIP.
