Here is the response that I got from Apple Accessibility as I reported the same issue. The first paragraph is what I wrote than the response, I will email them back tonight. I am using the standard bluetooth keyboard that comes with the iMac.
"I have noticed a problem when clicking VO space bar to select items and click on links throughout the entire system. Sometimes if you hit VO space at the same time which I have always done it does click on what you are attempting to click on, you have to hit control option and then the space bar not all at the same time. Would be greatly appreciative if this is something that can be fixed in the next update." I was unable to reproduce the reported issue in extended testing with multiple applications on Mountain Lion. The difficulty you are experiencing could be related to your input device. Have you been encountered the issue with multiple keyboards and systems?
