I'd love an answer to this too. It's a minor annoyance, but if its something that can be fixed, it would make Mountain Lion virtually perfect for me. Like you, I've unchecked the kind column with no effect. I liked the way finder was read in previous versions of OSX, and for me, list view is vastly preferable to the other options, but changing to another view doesn't solve the problem and just makes things even weirder, at least for me. So, if you find an answer to this, please let me know. (smile)

I've disabled the Kind column in the view options, but I still hear things like, "application", "folder", "wave audio file", "unix executable file", etc. Regards, Gavin Grundlingh Phone: +27 (0) 83 713-6191 Secondary Phone: +27 (0) 79 157-2466 Fax: +27 (0) 86 617-5792 Email: [email protected] Secondary Email: [email protected] Skype: Batworx Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/batworx Twitter: http://twitter.com/baworx -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
