Hi,

I believe that this has to do with GMail and iMap.  As the GMail servers are 
removing your deleted messages from your computer, it kind of hiccups causing 
the repetition.  You'll probably notice that this primarily happens when you're 
going through messages deleting the conversations that you're not interested in 
and/or simply deleting threads.
