No. I have both my apple id and my google account tied to messages (go to preferences to add one), and I can chat with gTalk contacts through messages. The problem I am having is that I c an't find a way to switch accounts, so sending to iMessage contacts fails, but gTalk contacts works. Still, it is possible to use other accounts.
