Hi,

The MacOS has a basic FTP client built in that works fine for visiting FTP 
sites and downloading from them.  It doesn't, however, do writing to an FTP 
site well.  I use Transmit for this.  It's not free but it works well for me.  
There are other free options out there that others may be able to enlighten you 
with.
