press FN along with VO-Shift-Left or right for home and end
respectively.

The only time I've experienced any cursor jumping in the message list
is when I reply to a message in this forum or other email lists that
turn back your replies,.  What is happening there is when the reply
comes in, the thread now has a new message with today's date on it so
that thread along with your cursor gets moved down to the bottom of
the list.  What I try to do is as soon as the reply is sent,
immediately arow up or down a place or two to get away from that
thread so when it moves, the cursor will remain within the right part
of the message list.  Also, if you have a thread with say, five
messages and you delete all but one of them, the placement of that
thread may move further up the list.  I hope this all doesn't sound
too complicated.  It isn't a bug but you need to realize what Mail is
doing here when you start manipulating the message list and especially
if you use threaded view.  I do and I like threaded mail.  I wouldn't
wanna use it in any other way.
