Hello Donna, The easiest way to convert text to MP3 audio is to enable the service command "Add to iTunes as a spoken track". You have to select the text first, and you'll be in a dialogue box where you can choose the voice. To increase the speech rate, put the command mentioned by Jane at the beginning of the text to be converted.
