Hello Mary, I just went through this problem and here is what I did.

First, you need to download the latest version of Flash from the get.adobe.com
website.

just type "flash player" in the search field and follow the links to the flash
player download. The file I downloaded is named "Update_Flash_player_OSX.dwg"

Below is a email I sent myself to outline the update steps for future reference.

"For future reference, this explains how to get the normally inaccessible FP
installer to be accessible with VO.

If you just press Command-O on the .DWG file, and then again on the enclosed
.app file, you'll get an inaccessible version of the FP installer window.
Actually, I'm told that using the Tab and spacebar keys instead of VO commands,
you'll be able to navigate the window, but I'm not sure.

Instead, follow these steps to get past the inaccessible installer window and
install the update using VO.

1) Command-O the downloaded installer package.

2) VO shift M on the "install Adobe Flash Player.app" file and select "show
package contents" from the context menu.

3) open the "Resources" folder and find the "Adobe Flash Player.pkg" file.

4) command-O on that file and follow the accessible prompts using VO commands.

That's it! Any problems, give a shout.
