Hi, I don't think you can remove the all mail label. I believe you can sort of "unsubscribe" from that label so you don't end up with duplicates and such while using imap. I will do a horrible job of explaining so I will send you the link that helped me. When I went through this process I did find that I could not find this labs unless I was using the standard view in gmail rather than the basic html. I actually ended up having my ten year old give me sighted assistance with setting this up. I don't know if that's necessary but I was having a lot of trouble getting vO and gmail standard view to play nice. There is a bit of old instructions in this article but if you understand what the instructions are about then you should have no problems.
