Hello -
I was talking with Keith Weatherly about Midies on his keyboard.
He had expressed frustration in the fact that he couldn't use the built in
sounds on the keyboard.
I never having the means to play with a midi keyboard did a bit of thinking
and thought of the simple fact that midis are also sound fonts. this being
said, I knew that if you were able to find something on the mac that would
support sound fonts such as garageband you could then use it.
so, i told him to try the "DLS Music Device."
 guess what, it works.
So that's an answer to the 1 million dollar question how do you use midis on
the mac.
the DLS Music device is in garageband. you find it by going into the software
instrument and then going into the sound generator and clicking on it.
hope this helps the other musicians.
one more thing of interest. you have to use the keyboard to change the sounds
you can't use the computer.
however, i've got an idea that is also worth trying. when you are in the DLS
music device click on edit and see what you see.
