Hi,

You set up the user accounts in system Prefs in the Users & Groups pane. YOu
will need to unlock the lock so that you are allowed to create users. Once
unlocked, press the "Add User or Group" button. There will be a pop-up for
deciding whether the user is an Admin, Standard or other type as wel as fields
for the user's name, short name and password. When you fill in the user's name
then tab to the Short name, the Short name will be filled in automatically.
You can change it if you wish but I'd just leave it alone. The rest is fairly
straight forward. If you use Snow Leopard instead of Lion, the pane is called
Accounts instead of Users & Groups.

HTH.
