The chess app built into osx works perfectly. You can even set it up to speak moves it makes, so you know what it is doing. I turn quicknav on so I can easily arrow around the board, select the piece I want with up-down, then move to where I want that piece to go and press up-down again. Also, I have a physical chessboard in front of me on which I mirror the on-screen game, allowing me to feel pieces instead of trying to build up a picture in my head. That's just me though.
