Apple is a great company, and I applaud there effort on out of the box accessibility, not only for the iPhone, but for the mac's also. But what they usually do is give us things in a OS update that were already available with a jail break. Everything you just mentioned, including siri was a jail break first. I guess you can thank them for paying attention to the jail break community, and giving the public what they want. But those who have never jail broken would never know, that do not disturb has been a jail break for almost 2 years. Siri was also, but I never used it and don't know what the JB tweak was called. But yes, the iPhone5 is a great device, all the way across the board!

I was upgrading from an iPhone 4, so this is the first time I've gotten to use Siri. First of all, I love that Facebook is now more or less built in. I know this is an IOS 6 thing, not necessarily the iPhone 5. But I like that you can update your contacts from Facebook on your phone, so you can keep their contact info up to date. I used to use an inaccessible app to do this occasionally, but now it appears to be a lot easier. However, I'm not sure if it downloads new contacts from Facebook that aren't yet on your phone, or only updates the ones that match. I think it is the former. I like that there's an extra row of icons per page on the homescreen since the screen is taller. Though sometimes I have to search around for things where I got used to their location, but now they are higher up on the screen for the same reason. I love the Do Not Disturb feature. I've been wanting something like this for a while, kind of a compromise between Airplane mode and wanting some people to be able to get through if necessary. The new "reply with message" option is also really useful. Basically if you get a call you can't or don't want to answer right now, you can select "call options" and then "reply with message," and select one of three predefined replies, such as "I'll call you later." Finally, of course, I love Siri. Very useful in a lot of ways, and very funny to at others. :) I didn't know this, but I realized that if the option is enabled, you can simply raise the phone to your ear to talk. That includes for dictating messages. Just raise the phone up to your ear and speak your message. It's very convenient. Christine and I have only been using Siri to send messages, since it is so much faster. I actually wish it would do more, though. For instance, I asked it to create a list in reminders. It said to go to the reminder's app for that, so obviously Siri knew what I was talking about. Why not just create the list? Can't be very difficult. Same thing for completing reminders. Anyway, just wanted to share some of the things I like about this new phone. :D Regards, Brandon Olivares Azavia Technologies <http://www.azavia.com/> New: ZCaptcha <http://www.azavia.com/zcaptcha> - The Captcha Reader -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
