Depends on why it was running slow. If you had 4GB of RAM before and only allocated 1GB to Fusion then it might not have been a RAM limitation. Generally I've found Windows beats on my hard drive a lot and from friends who have gone the SSD route VMWare really picks up the pace. So I suspect the biggest improvement would be if you can up your disk performance. CPU also helps if you have a few to spare.
