Lol! Well it's all thanks to that nasty piece of malware that didn't
directly attack macs but was enough to warrant the recommendation of
antimalware programs for the mac. Nothing is foolproof and the mac is no
exception.

Thank you Alex for your tip.
Although not successful, I have a solution that has worked so far.
I play the video in the application, VO-left arrow to the menu button and
preform a right-click.
I'm presented with several options upon down-arrowing, and I believe
the 3rd
or 4th option down is the download submenu where I can press enter on the
type of download format I would like.
