Hi, Configuring manually is approached differently. You can VO-space on the Airport wireless device to be sent to a "Pop-over" that simply summarizes the device settings. Press on the Edit button and you can manually adjust the settings that the Utility will allow.
The option you are speaking of no longer appears as far as I'm aware. If you use an Airport Express, another Extreme or Time Capsule, you can set them up to Extend your network using Airport Utility under the Wireless tab. Because they are both Apple Airport devices, the configuration will be done automatically when you choose to set the new Airport device as "Extending" your existing network. HTH. Later...
