I gave Gail a call as he and are are like brothers, best friends, and I talked
him through it. We got 'em up and running.

Next thing he wants me to do is help him get Dropbox up and running. I'll
probably help 'em with that later this evening, or tomorrow at the latest.

By the way, great to see you up here on the list, Gail.

Thank you kindly,

Christopher-Mark Gilland.

Subject: Re: Newbie needing help, how to set up my Wireless networkHello,
I've just purchased a Macbook, May 2009, running Lion off of ebay. I've owned a
mac mini, for a couple of months but consider myself a newbie here. I've
forgotten pretty much all I've learned! Anyway, I'm needing help setting up my
already existing wireless network! I've already looked at the airport utility,
and the network utility, but couldn't find anything that made any sense to me.
I'm using a wireless g router, not an airport base station. Actually, it's my
roommate's network, which I have the password to, and of course, have
permission to join it. Please, if anyone can walk me through, with very
specific directions, and keystrokes, It would be greatly appreciated! As you
can see, from my signiture, I'm using my iPhone to send this message. thanks

Hi Gale. Just so you know, you put your message body into your subject line.
In any event, when you first got your Mac and turned it on, you should've been
able to see the wifi networks that were available to you. If you didn't, press
VO+M, or ctrl+option+M twice to go to the secondary menu. VO+right until you
hear Voiceover say, "Wifi no signal." Arrow down until you hear your friend's
wifi network and press return. It'll ask you for your friend's password so go
ahead and enter it and then you should be all set. HTH.
