I recently installed Windows7 Home Premium 64bit edition in bootcamp. Mike is right, the upgrade won't work - it requires an existing windows version. I don't know what the difference between OEM and Commercial versions is exactly, but I bought the full commercial copy. I believe, that OEM, is for Origional Equipment Manufacturers and is a special type of liscence that may or may not work for bootcamp.

Again, I'm not sure, but I'd be careful about buying an OEM copy if you don't know definitely if it'll work for bootcamp.

The bootcamp documentation says something about this.

I would not get the upgrade, usually this requires that a previous version of windows be installed. One thing you might look for is an OEM version, these are usually much cheaper, they just don't include support or documentation.

Hi all,
I need to set up bootcamp on the MB Air since it will be my general-purpose demonstration machine - I have to be able to show both Mac and Windows, and I think Bootcamp is the best way to go. I'm on Newegg and I see Windows 7 Home Premium for $200 or Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for $120. What's the difference, and which should I get to use with Bootcamp?

As an aside, if I partition my ssd and later realize I need more room on one partition or the other, can I resize the two without destroying the data on one or both? I have visions of installing all the demo software (jaws, office, and so on) and running out of space on Windows. Thanks.

Have a great day,
