Well, I guess I answered my own question. I just bought an album on iTunes, and it shows up in recently added along with recently purchased books, which is unfortunate. The stuff that is missing are mp3s purchased from Amazon and added into my iTunes library. So I guess "recently added" only knows about iTunes purchases or cds you wrip, but not things imported into the library from other sources like Amazon. The music from Amazon does show up in the music table, thank goodness.
