Okay, try this. Hit vo-f8 and wait until the utility is up. Hit vo-m, then 
right arrow twice. Now down arrow five times and press enter; you should be on 
the "reset basic preferences" item. Now vo-right wtice, then vo-space once to 
activate the "reset" button. You can't press enter here as the cancel button is 
default, so you must vo-right twice.
