Okay, First, I got this message. With respect to your Skype issue, Are you using Growl? IF so, you might want to go in to your Skype prefs window, from there, click on the notifications tab and from there make sure that Growl is selected. I just use the regular notification display and have my default voice tell me what's going on through Skype itself. I only get the "new window" thing when I first sign in.
