Hi, Dragging and dropping into Terminal is easier than it seems. All you need to do in this case is open your Trash window, cmd-a to Select All and cmd-c to Copy those items, then paste with cmd-v after typing the original remove command. This "rm" command should be used carefully as it can have dire consequences when used indiscriminately. What is outlined in the article you referenced should be totally fine though.
