Route your mouse to it and lock the mouse down with vo-cmd-shift-space. Turn off cursor tracking with vo-shift-f3, then stop interacting with the favorites bar group and find a splitter or some other area with nothing in it. Route your mouse there (vo-f5) and then unlock the mouse (vo-cmd-shift-space again). That should serve to drag the folder out of the favorites. If this does not work, close and then re-open mail, then try again. I find I have to do this after every dragging action or it won't work the next time I try.
