Hi,

Here are some general notes on security:
1. Physical security trumps any electronic security. Bottom line, if someone
has access to your computer, your data can be compromised. It makes no
difference if your in a home or hotel, if someone has your computer in hand,
you are in trouble.

As far as electronic security, I suggest the following simple suggestions.
First, when you first set up your computer, and it asks you for your initial
account, create an account for administrator access only. For example, it
might be called admin. Give this account admin rights to your computer. Then,
in accounts or users and groups system preferences, create your every day
working account and do not allow this account to have administrator access to
this computer. Set it up as a standard user. Then, if you ever need to
install an update or application, use the admin accounts credentials. I
suggest this simple step to prevent any unknown web exploits as demonstrated by
the recent java security hole in java 7 so urgently patched by oracle.

My final suggestion is to disable auto launching of trusted files from safari.
There simply is no such thing as a trusted file type.

These three things will make your Mac extremely secure, more so than using the
walled garden of Mountain Lion's gatekeeper, imho.

As for sharing voiceover settings, I'd suggest exporting the settings from one
account and importing it into the other. Alternatively, consider using a small
flash drive with mobile settings, then you can use this on any Mac, not just
your own, and get your perfect set of VO settings no matter what Mac you are on.

Cheers.
