John, these might seem like stupid questions, but I can't resist asking
them. What is it, exactly, that makes Firefox be so sluggish and do the
busy thing so frequently? I ask this for two reasons.
1. I know that it doesn't use the same webkit that is used by Lightning,
Safari, and Chrome, but having said that, it just seems kind of odd to me
that this would be consistently happening. I wonder in general where the
leak is coming in, and is it more a processor thing, or more a memory leak.
2. I might have mis-understood, but wasn't Firefox open source, at least at
one time in the game? If that's the case, who's to say we couldn't find
someone who is blind using Voiceover to have a look at it. Also, I know
Apple is very funny about providing source code, and rightfully so. I'd
just suspect, wouldn't it be slightly harder for the Mozilla devs to really
do much without the coding of Voiceover specifically so that they could
compare code back and forth, and maybe in one of the two codes find what is
causing the breakage.

I believe it is available. Firefox is usable with VoiceOver. It is a
bit sluggish in some instances, but it is getting there. If you have
patience, I would give it a try and encourage the developers to keep
improving VoiceOver access.

Last I heard, Firefox still was not that great. I hear it was sort of,
ish! doable, and certainly in a pinch would work, but still had a really
really long way to go. I hear that even on systems with a butt load of
ram, it still says busy busy almost constantly. I just wondered if
anyone has any more information as for the current state. Is it still
doing this quite a bit, or is it pretty much taken care of where now, it
is about as quick as using say, Lightning, Chrome, or Safari.
