It shouldn't matter that your email address is selected. The main thing is to have your phone number set to the default send from credential for Messages on your Mac/s. Is your phone number showing up in that pop up menu yet? Once this is done all your iMessages should sync between devices. Ordinary text messages, however, will not sync.
