Well, if it isn't really bricked this should work I think. First, you are supposed to make sure the phone is off which I suppose it is if it isn't working at all but make sure.
Hold down the home button and while continuing to hold it down, plug it into the computer. Continue to hold it down until iTunes comes up and tells you it sees a phone in recovery mode. Proceed from there. Of course if it is really and truly bricked this won't work but I honestly don't think it can hurt either.
