Just a quick note to all who replied to my request for information about which scanners work best with ABBYY FineReader Express for Macintosh. After reading your posts and researching the products that you recommended, I have come to the conclusion that the Canoscan Lide 110 is a good option; it works very reliably with ABBYY FineReader, according to Anne Robertson, and it is relatively inexpensive ($55 through Amazon).
