What happens when you try to change one instance of a repete event?
Without knowing more, at this stage I can suggest the following:
• Edit some detail of a repete event, such as the time;
• Once you have tried to do this, perform a two finger double tap
on the right hand edge of the trackpad, or press VO-SHIFT-F2 twice quickly.
This should bring up the window chooser.
• One of the options in the window chooser should be Alert from
Calendar, or something like that. Navigate to this and select it.
• Now you should be able to see that same message you get in iOS.
Select whether you want to change only this event or all future events, or
cancel.
• Now you should be right to go.
