I have thought of another thing that might be happening. As far as I know, 
Adobe Acrobat Reader for the Mac doesn't work with VoiceOver. I have had some 
websites like my bank insist on calling up Adobe Acrobat Reader, which means 
that you want to download the thing first and then look at it off line when you 
can use Preview.
