Hi there Yes, it is a true statement that you have to take out the Sd card. However, this is no big deal. You don't have to turn the machine off, and you just press on the side of it, and it pops out. Then, you just slip it into your Mac, and do whatever you need to do, eject the Sd card With Command d and put it back in the edge. I'm finding it easier than what I have to do with my PacMate.
