Just highlight the text you want, be it a sentence or an entire book. press control option shift M. Arrow up the menu to add to itunes as a spoken trak and press enter. In the case of a whole book, go for coffee.
Now, I think itunes will pop up and start reading to you when it's done converting. you can then transfer the file to your I device or other mp3 listening thing you have laying around the house.
