Hi Des,

You need to add a "+subscribe" (plus sign followed by the word
"subscribe") after the "PTAccess" when you sent the email to join the
ProTools group. Read the string by character instead of trying to open
it in mail, or copy the string and then paste it into the "To" field.

I'll repeat the string that Slau gave:
[email protected]

Also, be aware that the ptaccess list is also archived at the Mail
Archive site. That means that you can search through the archived
discussions even without being a subscriber to that group, and use
access key shortcuts to quickly read up and down threads with Control-
n for the next post and Control-p for previous posts. You can also
use the Mail Archive link for that page to read the current posts
without being a list subscriber, and this is also true for the
Macvisionaries list.

The Mail Archive link for the ptaccess list is:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]

The Mail Archive link for the macvisionaries list is:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]

You can make yourself a web shortcut file that will open your browser
to these pages by creating a 3-line file with TextEdit. Follow the
instructions on John Panarese's MacfortheBlind.com tips and tricks
page:
http://macfortheblind.com/Tips-and-Tricks-for-the-Mac
Navigate to the heading "Web Shortcut Files"

That tip was originally posted in the macvisionaries list and can also
be found by searching the mail archive page. Substitute the URL of the
Mail Archive pages for the lists above. Then use the text box on that
page to type in search terms and press return. It's like getting
Google search results for topics discussed on list, except that the
search algorithm is better and the navigation is more accessible.
Just open links of the posts you want to read.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
