Other than dimming the keyboard backlighting as well I think the rest
depends on what you are doing with your laptop. I don't think the
batteries have recharge 'memory' like the old days so you can pretty
much charge and discharge at your convenience. One nice thing is that
even if you run your battery all the way to empty you'll first get a
warning and then the machine will go inter hibernate where the contents
of your memory are written to the hard drive. Later when you plug things
in you can wake back up and the machine will suck everything back in and
after about a minute things should be just as you left them.
