Hi Kelly. I don't know what your friend was talking about, but you can indeed 
use a screen reader for Windows if you virtualize it. On my VM of XP, I have 
System Access, NVDA and Window-Eyes and they work with no problems. As for 
sluggishness, I don't experience any because I made sure that I would have 
enough room to use screenreaders and whatever voices I wanted to install. If 
you're installing XP with fusion, I Recommend it to use at least 100 GB, which 
translates into 1 gig of ram, but that's just me.
Also, if you do get a Mac, you'll be able to send Imessages from your Mac to 
any contact you have with an iPhone. I find this more simpler than typing on 
the touch screen.
