A while back I started a thread about VoiceOver not always working after waking the computer from sleep mode. It seemed to strike a chord with a lot of people having noticed the same behavior, but no one really knew what was causing it, or how to prevent it. The solution proposed by Ricardo was to press command F5 four times quickly, which worked quite reliably.
Well, I think I have noticed something significant about this problem as follows: VoiceOver only seems to go silent when a program is left open on the screen when the Mac goes to sleep. When all apps are closed out and the desktop is empty, VoiceOver seems to have no problem when the Mac comes out of sleep mode. That's it! I don't know what it means, but that's a pattern I've noticed and it might clue in someone smarter than me about the nature and cause of this quirky behavior. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
