I just bought AfterShokz Bluez bluetooth bone conducting stereo headset on
the recommendation of someone on this list and it is very good. It is A2DP
compliant which is necessary for use with VoiceOver. Bone conducting means
that the earpieces don't sit in the ear, but on the Zygomatic arch (the bone
in front of the ear).
bone conduction allows you to hear both ambient sounds and the iPhone
equally well, and you can't really hurt the ear since they don't play
directly into the ear, but rather, the sound vibration is picked up by the
inner ear via bone conduction.
www.AfterShokz.com
look for the "Bluez" model. And, there might be a discount code somewhere on
the site to knock off a few dollars off the relatively of high price.

would a bluetooth ear peace for the iPhone work with my mac? i tried a cheep
one, but it was terrible quallity. does anyone have any
recommendations/advice?
i prefer wired earphones, but the port keeps breaking.
