Hi, Christine, Some pages don't register an action unless a mouse is used. In this case, you can turn Mouse Keys on. First, try hitting the right option key five times quicky. You should hear "mouse keys on". If this doesn't work, you can set this up in System Preferences. Now go to the button you want to press. Use command-VO-f5 to route the mouse pointer to VO. Now press the number five on your keypad. This will actually act as a mouse-click, and isn't the same as pressing VO-shift-space.
