One thing I do with Adobe Digital Editions is this: Since VO recognizes a page 
at a time and doesn't navigate by line, it's possible to use the command to 
copy the last phrase to the clipboard, which is VO-shift-C. At this point the 
page can be pasted into TextEdit or another text document. It's a tedious 
process with long documents, but it works. This works for both epub and pdf 
documents.
