HI Jürgen, I've never had the jumping around issue myself. I have had the issue you mention regarding VoiceOver reading the end of previous lines etcetera. However, I only seem to have it when I change direction from going down to up, or up to down. A similar thing happens while reading by word when changing direction from left to right or right to left. I agree it's annoying and shouldn't happen. I hope they change this. But, as it is I'm still able to get the information I need, particularly if I stick to going slowly in one direction.
As for tables… well, these are a problem on the Mac in all document reading/word processing apps. It baffles me why these are such a problem for VoiceOver, given that the tables work fine in Safari. I thought most word processors were based on HTML, so I can't work out why it works in Safari but not other apps. I also endeavour to use the Mac exclusively. However, I have heavy duty word processing requirements for work. So I am unfortunately often forced to use Windows for track changes, footnotes, moving between particular pages in documents and identifying particular line numbers . I really hope Apple fixes these issues so I can use the Mac exclusively. I know this is a little off topic, but speaking of languages — I love it how iOS now automatically reads out foreign languages in the appropriate voice so long as the foreign language is in special script or tagged correctly. I wish VoiceOver would do the same in Mac OS X. Best, Nic -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
