OK, Now, I'm really! wonderring! I just made a discovery. The reason that it's not saying and, but is saying ampersand as described in my last post is because that entry got removed from the rponunciations tab under vo utility/speech. What's strange though is everything! including the stuff Apple puts in there by default got deleted. I can't export all settings from the mini in the utility, as that doesn't seem to be including the pronunciation rules for some reason, and when I got in the export dialog to the export drop down, once I open that pop up, and select pronunciation, the vo utility crashes consistently every time. I'm getting that crash on my macbook, and on my mini both in Mountain Lion 10.8.3. I dono when this bug popped it's head in the door. I managed to save only pronunciation rules from an old Snow Leopard partition I have, but I"m not sure if taht's gonna work between 10.6 and 10.8 being there is such a jump in O S versions. I'm gonna try it though. I got nothing to lose. I just wonder though in the first place what the heck caused this!
