If you don't mind playing around with terminal and MacPorts you can get the free sox audio manipulation tool. Then you could just do

sox audiofile1.mp3 audiofile2.wav output.aiff

Which would concatenate the first to files and store the output in the third file. It also does lots of other manipulations such as changing the speed or applying EQ. More info on sox can be found here:

http://sox.sourceforge.net/sox.html

and a tutorial is here:

another tutorial is here:

Well, you can't go wrong using amadeus Pro to do this. It costs a little; but, you will find it well worth it.

Hi,
Can someone recommend an app to join two mp3 files together?
Alternatively, I have Sound Studio and Audacity but I can't figure out how to do this in either programme. I've tried selecting one file, in order to paste into the other file. But in both programmes, select all is dimmed and I can't select the file. I can play it fine. Sound studio has an insert menu but it doesn't include an insert file.
Thanks for any ideas.
