Hi Cawal. As far as I have tried the pearl is not very good.
I have on the other hand tried a zoomex that is pretty nice. The hover cam would be cheaper, and it can be used with more OCR programs. Yes it would be rather quick to snap pictures of a book, if the camera works and makes clear pictures. I could use my iPhone, but I can not find a program, that can make a multipage tif file.
