I have a pop email account with Comcast, and I want to setup IOS mail to remove messages from the server when I read them so that when I check my mail from windows outlook express, I won't see those same messages again.
Outlook express removes the messages, but I can't figure out how to get IOS mail to do the same. in the IOS mail settings for comcast, under advanced, I see two settings that look promising. The first is under the "deleted messages" heading, and the setting says "after one week". other options are "never", "after 1 day", and "after 1 month". The other setting is towards the bottom of the advanced settings page, and says "delete from server". I have it set to "when removed from inbox", and the other choices are "never", and "7days". When I check my mail from the iPhone, I get all my messages, and delete them after reading them. Then later, when I check mail from windows outlook express, I get all the same messages that I deleted on the iPhone. But, when I first read them from Outlook Express, then check mail from the iPhone, all those messages are gone since OE deleted them off the server after reading them. How can I get them off the server after reading them from the iPhone? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
