Hello Donna, The word count in Pages appears to VO as an image. You can find it to the right of where VO says "Layout area" but it isn't readable with VO and I haven't found a way round this as I can't seem to highlight it to use the trick of copying the highlighted text into TextEdit. In any case, that would take longer than going to the Inspector.
