Frankly, I prefer Abby Fine Reader express and use DocuScan only for
very casual scanning. Of course, I am somewhat biased, since I study multiple
languages, and DocuScan only recognizes English, but, in my experience, even in
English, Abby Fine Reader does best with, for instance, scanned PDFs. I tried
Prismo on a PDF that I recognized with Abby Fine Reader, and the results, while
not terrible, were not at the same level. To be fair, I haven't done to much
with Prismo. As for VuScan, it, from what I understand, provides a unified
interface for various scanners, but does not actually perform recognition.
Still, others say it is the easiest program to use for efficiently scanning a
large number of pages. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about VuScan.
